Structural Functionalism

Structural Functionalism explain why society functions the way it does by focusing on the relationships between various institutions that make up a society, it is a framework for building a theory that sees society as a complex whose parts work together to promote solidarity and stability and the part of the whole system must have interdependent in their functions and relationship to each other to achieve one goal. Social structure involves the family, government, religion, education, and economy. 

For example, a family. It composes the father as the head and provider of the needs of the family, the mother as the light and secretary of the house, the children as  fruit of love and gift of God. As time goes by, the children goes older and this will be the time that the father gave them the task, instructions, and responsibilities to handle and function inside their homes to achieve and obtain their goals as a family. What if, there is one member in the family who is  willing to accept and embrace the family rules and regulations,  so the tendency is dysfunction or disruption in aiming their goals. Many families succeed due to unity,  in spiritually, emotionally, and understanding to each other, and there are families also failed due to individual differences in nature. We can also apply this phenomena in our government system because they are divided according to their beliefs, objectives, and they have their own goals to destabilize what is the present situation, they all wanted changes in everything and in everytime they want. Also in our religious group they want people believe that they are the righteous one. In education, DepEd implemented the K to 12 program to enhance and to educate the students in various kinds of job they want to be in the future. Some may continue, but maybe some will not due to financial problems and some think to go into early marriage, to think that is the solution to survive in their everyday needs but that is only dysfunction. In economy, the capitalist and the wealthy people become richer due to their greediness and the laborer become poorer due to the low wages they received as the fruit of their labor. I think structural functionalism is just a theory because people were born in different belief, culture, behavior, and economic aspect. People have many differences in nature, they cannot embrace and accept what laws, rules and regulations implemented. Only God have the power to unite people in one belief because He is the creator of all human beings.
